Warm and fraternal greetings to you.
I am pleased to report that our focus on financials continues to pay dividends. We ended the 2nd quarter with collections approximately in line with the first half of 2012. However, our total expenses have been cut by a full 25% and we project that we will come very close to breaking even for the year. It is great news, but we are not done yet.
As previously mentioned, we will be voting on a by-laws change which will increase our annual dues by $10. This will provide future generations with some additional flexibility and should further secure our financial condition. So many thanks to all who helped in this endeavor.
We have a full second half of the year planned. As you will see in the Lodge Dates of Importance, we expect to confer all three degrees, entertain philanthropic initiatives, host a bingo night at Bonnie Blink, celebrate our lodge’s birthday party, honor our past masters, and hold elections. Much to do!
I want to highlight the lodge birthday party to be held on November 8th. By now, you should have received your invitation in the mail. I am happy to announce that the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Maryland, Gerald E. Piepiora, the Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master, and our Grand Secretary have already RSVP’d that they will be attending.
You may RSVP on our website (www.corinthian93.com) or by contacting our Senior Warden, Mark Coulbourne. His contact information is on the reverse side of the Trestle. Attendance at this event will be restricted to the first 100 masons who RSVP. It is shaping up to be a great event and I look forward to tipping a glass back with all who can attend.
I’ll see you all in lodge.
